In a testament to scientific cooperation between Iraqi universities, the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra chaired a doctoral dissertation defense at the University of Baghdad.

As part of efforts to strengthen scientific and academic collaboration between Iraqi universities and exchange research expertise, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, chaired the committee that examined the doctoral dissertation of student An'am Al-Tai at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, University of Baghdad. The dissertation was titled:

“The Impact of Recreational Physical Activities on Reducing Psychosocial Conflict and Enhancing the Psychological Identity of Orphans in State-Run Homes.”

The defense featured a rigorous academic discussion that addressed the theoretical and applied aspects of the dissertation and its importance in serving orphans, given its focus on psychological and social variables with significant humanitarian and societal dimensions.

At the conclusion of the defense, the committee approved the dissertation and awarded the student a doctorate with a grade of Very Good, commending the scholarly efforts invested in its preparation. This scientific activity affirms the depth of cooperation and academic integration between the University of Basra and the University of Baghdad, and the two institutions' commitment to supporting rigorous scientific research and exchanging expertise in a way that contributes to raising the level of postgraduate studies and serving Iraqi society.
