The College of Physical Education, University of Basra, in the Republic of Iraq was established in 1983 - 1984 to be a sports umbrella with educational and social dimensions that serve institutions and society.
It thus constitutes the main dimension for the development of sports activities and scientific care for our dear students in the Ministries of Higher Education and Education and the ministries associated with them. Undoubtedly, it works to support and promote sports that are practiced at all levels, including local, Arab and international, and this is achieved through regular sports practice in Training and competition under the supervision of a specialized and qualified educational cadre. Therefore, the Faculty of Physical Education was and still is qualified to contribute to the sports renaissance of Iraq and the province of Basra in particular, where the number of students accepted in the year 1983-1984 was (110) male and female students.
