The International Charter of Physical Education and The Physical Activity and Sport is a rights-based document that was adopted by the Member States of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on November 18, 2015 during the 38th session of the UNESCO General Conference. This document is the legitimate successor to the International Charter for Physical Education and Sport, which was originally adopted in 1978 during the twentieth General Conference of UNESCO.

The original Charter, amended in 1991, was the first rights-based document stating that "the practice of physical education and sport is a fundamental right for all". Building on the universal spirit of the original 1978 Charter, and incorporating significant developments in sport over the past 37 years, the revised Sports Charter highlights the health benefits of physical activity, the inclusion of persons with disabilities, the protection of children, the role of sport in development and peace, as well as the need to protect the safety of Sport from doping, violence, manipulation and corruption.
