Exam Instructions

 

Based on the provisions of Clause (2) of Article (37) of the Higher Education and Scientific Research Law No. (40) of 1988.
The following instructions are issued:

 

Article 1
First - The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research determines the academic system in colleges and technical institutes.
Second - The department council may propose changing no more than (10%) of the vocabulary prescribed for each subject, and this is accompanied by the approval of the college council.

 

Article 2
First - The college council or the institute council, upon a proposal from the department or branch council in the college where there are no departments, determines the number and type of quest exams, how they are conducted and their percentages calculated, provided that the quest score is not less than (30%) and not more than (50%) of the final grade. Except for topics of a practical and applied nature, it is left to estimate their percentages to the University Council or the Council of the Technical Institutes Authority.
Second - Examinations for the finished classes of medical colleges are comprehensive, and the annual pursuit of sixth-grade subjects in medical colleges is calculated at a rate of (20%) of the final grade.

Article 3
First – The semester or annual examination for the first and second cycles shall be confidential in all subjects.
Second - The semester or annual examination for the first and second cycles shall be confidential in all subjects, the quarterly or annual examination includes the vocabulary of the subjects prescribed during the semester or year, provided that the study period for the semester lessons is not less than (15) weeks and the annual lessons for no more than (30) weeks, and examinations and school holidays are not included in that.

 

Article 4
The faculty member is required to program the vocabulary of the subjects he is studying and announce this at the beginning of the academic year.

 

Article 5
The college or institute council, upon a proposal from the dean, creates one or more committees for the final exams.

 

Article 6
The minimum passing score is (50%) in each subject.

 

Article 7
Every two semester subjects in colleges that adopt the semester system have one annual subject.

 

Article 8
First - If the student does not obtain a minimum passing grade in less than half of the subjects prescribed for the academic year, he shall repeat the examination in the second round in the subjects in which he did not obtain a minimum passing score in the first round examination or in which he did not perform the examination, and he shall keep the annual quest score when he participates in the examination second floor.
Second - An exception from the provision of item (First) of this article is for the student of the completed year to take the second round exam regardless of the number of subjects in which he did not obtain the minimum passing grade, and he retains the degree of annual quest when he participates in the second round exam.

 

Article 9
First- The student is considered a failure if he does not obtain a minimum passing grade in at least half of the subjects in the first round exam, with the exception of students of the past years.
Secondly - If the student in the second round does not obtain a minimum passing grade in any of the subjects in which he was examined, or does not pass the examination in that year, he shall be considered as failing in that year, and he shall repeat the year continuously and an examination in all the subjects in which he failed, as well as in which he obtained a grade (acceptable) nor The provisions of Article (14) shall be applied to the student.
Third - The failing student is exempted from the deleted subjects and demands the new subjects in case of changing the curricula.

 

Article 10
A student may fail in any subject if his absences exceed (10%) of the hours prescribed for that subject without a legitimate excuse or (15%) with a legitimate excuse approved by the college or institute council.

 

Article 11
Participation in the examinations of the second term if his failure to participate in the examinations of the first term was due to a legitimate excuse that the college council or the institute council was convinced of, or by a fundamental medical report.

 

Article 12
The academic subjects of a practical or applied nature that do not have a final exam are required to take the exam for the second round. This is determined by the college or institute council at the beginning of the year and announced to the students.

 

Article 13
Postponing the second round exam in any case.

 

Article 14
The final score of the successful student in the second round according to the following:
First - (10) marks for each subject, if the exam is in the second round with a legitimate excuse that the college or institute board is convinced of, except for the successful with a grade of (acceptable) in any subject, so his grade will be (50%).
Second - If his exam is in the second round without a legitimate excuse, then his grade will be (50%).

 

Article 15
The department does not include the final results and submits them with its recommendations to the college or institute council for approval and announcement.

 

Article 16
First - The student's average is calculated on the basis of the grades obtained in each subject, taking into account the number of units for each subject.
Second - The unit is considered an hour's effort, a weekly look for a period of (15) weeks.
Third - Every two or three practical hours in colleges is equivalent to one theoretical hour, and what exceeds that is equal to two theoretical hours. In technical institutes, a practical hour is considered a theoretical hour.

Article 17
Graduation grade for the student according to the following:
First - In studies that last for 4 years, the distribution of the percentages of years is as follows:
first year 10%
2nd year 20%
3rd year 30%
4th year 40%
Secondly -  The student's average for each year is taken and multiplied by the percentage indicated against that. The sum for the four years is the student's graduation rate.
Third - In studies that last for (5) years, the distribution of the percentages of years is as follows, and the graduation rate is calculated as stated in the first:
first year 5%
second year 10%
third year 15%
Fourth year 30%
Fifth year 40%
Forth - In studies that last for (6) years, the distribution of the percentages of years is as follows, and the graduation rate is calculated as stated in the first:
first year 5%
second year 5%
third year 5%
Fourth year 20%
Fifth year 25%
Sixth year 40%

 

Article 18
First - The results are announced with the following grades, and the student's level is indicated among the successful ones in terms of grades.
Excellence corresponds to grades 90-100
Very good matched by grades 80 - 89
Good matched by grades 70 - 79
Average corresponding to degrees 60 - 69
Acceptable offset by scores 50-59
A failure that corresponds to a score of 49 or less
Secondly - Fractions of degrees shall be redressed if they are more than half for one subject, and fractions of degrees shall not be redressed if they are less than that.

 

Article 19

The university or the head of the Technical Institutes Authority, based on the recommendation of the college or institute and for compelling circumstances, may exempt the student from the annual and half-year pursuit exams or the quarterly exams, and consider the final exam score out of one hundred in one subject or more, provided that this authority is used in the narrowest limits. This does not mean that the student is exempted from working hours.

 

Article 20
First - The university or the head of the Technical Institutes Authority, based on the recommendation of the college or institute and for compelling circumstances, may exempt the student from the annual and half-year pursuit exams or the quarterly exams, and consider the final exam score out of one hundred in one subject or more, provided that this authority is used in the narrowest limits. This does not mean that the student is exempted from working hours.
Second - The University Council or the Council of the Commission upon the recommendation of the College or Institute Council allow the student who has failed in the year ending for two consecutive years and failed in the second year with one annual subject or two semester subjects to take the exam in the third year, provided that his position on military service is sound, otherwise he will have spent The period allowed for his stay in the college or institute.
