In the presence of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, a Master's thesis defense was held at the University of Basra, College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, for student Shams Khalid Marhej, entitled:

“The Effect of Recreational Physical Training on Discovering Athletic Talent in Track and Field Compared to the Standards of an Olympic Champion in Iraq.” The thesis was supervised by Professor Dr. Qusay Mohammed Ali, and the examining committee included a select group of professors specializing in the field.

The discussion featured a rigorous academic dialogue between the researcher and the committee members, enriching the theoretical and methodological aspects of the research, before the committee decided to approve the thesis with a grade of “Very Good.”
