Under the patronage of the Honorable President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, the respected Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, and under the slogan (Our students are a trust on everyone’s necks), the College Council held the first meeting for parents of students in the Applied and Theoretical Sciences streams to discuss the students’ situation. Their scientific, social and educational status.
The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the College, accompanied by his scientific assistant, Professor Dr. Kamel Shaneen Manahi, the administrator, Professor Dr. Hassan Farhan Al-Faridawi, the head of the Applied Sciences Branch, Professor Dr. Firas Hassan, and the head of the Theoretical Sciences Branch, Professor Dr. Mushtaq Hameed, in addition to the official of the Educational Guidance Unit, Professor Dr. Riad Nouri.
The meeting was also attended by a number of parents and a number of teachers, in addition to some students, and the necessity of adhering to working hours, the uniform, the absence system, and the student discipline law, as well as the scientific and academic aspects, were discussed.
The College Council listened to the opinions and suggestions of the attendees, and they were recorded in the minutes of the meeting. They will be included in the next College Council meeting for consideration in a way that serves the students and is consistent with the controls and instructions.
In turn, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, indicated, “We formed a committee to follow up on the condition of the students and their educational and academic status, and one of its requirements was to hold an expanded meeting with the parents because the process is a process of solidarity between the college and the parents.
