In the presence of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, the volleyball arbitration course, which was held by the Iraqi Volleyball Federation and in cooperation with the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, was launched for the first day, which included the theoretical aspect.
More than eighty-five trainees of both genders participated, with academic titles starting from a doctorate and ending with a bachelor’s degree, in addition to students from the college itself and students from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Al-Maqal University.
The head of the referees’ committee, referee Abdullah Nattah, and a graduate of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, international referee Mohsen Ali Jaseb, also lectured in it, in the presence of the head of the Volleyball Sub-Federation, Professor Dr. Muwaffaq Sainkh.
For his part, the Dean pointed out, “As part of the Deanship’s plan to improve sporting events and communicate with the central and subsidiary federations, we supervised the launch of the arbitration course, which extends for three days and includes theoretical and practical lectures. This is also considered the first of the training courses, seminars and workshops that advance sports in Basra.”
