The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra conducted the process of exchanging the position of Dean from Professor Dr. Sabah Mahdi Karim to Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed in the presence of the College Council and faculty members.
The process took place with the utmost diplomacy and transparency, and everyone had an honorable word about the former dean, his role, and what he achieved during his assignment and support for the academic institution in its various scientific and administrative aspects.
Professor Dr. Sabah Mahdi also pointed out, “It is with pride and pride that we passed the assignment period, which was full of work, and we provided everything possible at that time in order to advance our college. Praise be to God, everyone praised our success and excellence, and this is what we aspired to from the beginning.”
He also added, "We congratulate our colleague and brother, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, for the position of dean of the college. It is a great responsibility and he is qualified for it. We will also support him with what we have to crown his journey with success in service to the college and its history."
For his part, the Acting Dean, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, indicated, “Dr. Sabah Mahdi has had a great impact on this institution, and we will continue from where he left off. We also appreciate this support and support provided by our colleague, and we will strive to raise the name of our college and make it the highest list of colleges of physical education and sports sciences in Iraq.”
The process also witnessed honoring and celebrating the former dean, in addition to presenting the college shield and a letter of thanks and appreciation by the designated dean, making it his first signature in the position on the letter of thanks and appreciation in appreciation of his efforts made during the past period.
