The voluntary effort in Basra Governorate was honored by the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Sabah Mahdi Karim for his role in the Gulf Championship 25, which was launched on the sixth of January.

The ceremony was under the slogan (Basra celebrates its sons) to honor the personalities, institutions, media and volunteer teams participating and supporting the tournament in the hall of the Oil Cultural Center.

The honoring also included the faculty member in charge of monitoring the matches by the Arab Gulf Cup Federation, Prof. Dr. Haider Aufi Ahmed, for his presentation during the tournament.

For his part, the Brigadier General indicated, "Great and fruitful efforts were made by the people of Basra from various groups and disciplines for the success of the tournament. This ceremony and honoring is for the exchange of congratulations and the appreciation of efforts. In turn, we thank the party organizing the ceremony, and we wish success to all."
