The Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, Prof. Sabah Mahdi Karim, was honored by the South Gas Company on the occasion of the South Gas Club achieving the title of the Volleyball Premier League.

Where the Dean received the Shield of Cooperation and Creativity from the Director of the South Gas Company, Mr. Hamza Abdel-Baqi Nasser, as an academic figure and dean, as well as the highest sports pyramid in Basra, and he has a distinguished role in supporting the club, embracing its players and providing them with advice.

In a related context, it is mentioned that the South Gas Club defeated its rival, El-Jaish Club, 3-0, as it settled the match by (25-12), (25-21) and (25-18) for the three games to win the Premier League title for the sixth time and the Super League. during the current sports season.
For his part, the Brigadier General indicated, "We congratulate South Gas for this superiority and distinction, and this success was not achieved without the presence of persistent players, a seasoned training cadre and an administrative body striving for success. The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences is also proud of being an incubator for a number of players in this club, in addition to the team coach, Captain Alaa Khalaf being one of the Its graduates, and this indicates that the college is rich in sports talents and energies.”
