The Deanship of Physical Education receives the Corona vaccine

The Deanship of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra received the Corona virus vaccine from the university’s health center in compliance with the ministerial instructions and the Crisis Cell and to urge students and staff to receive the vaccine.

Where the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Sabah Mahdi Karim and his assistants, in addition to many teachers and employees, took the initiative to receive the vaccine to urge students and university employees to prepare for an academic year in attendance and to maintain public health.

According to a statement by the World Health Organization, where it recommends receiving the vaccine, “The vaccine has been proven to be safe and effective in people with various conditions associated with an increased risk of severe disease, including high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, lung diseases, liver and kidney diseases, in addition to stable and controlled chronic conditions.” .

For its part, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research prevented those who were not vaccinated from working in its institutions, as stated in the following text: “Don’t allow the attendance of students, workers and teaching staff in all governmental and private institutes, colleges and universities, and counting them as absent if they do not bring a vaccination card or a negative PCR examination weekly for non-citizens.” Those covered by the vaccine or those infected during the previous three months (confirmed by good reports from the competent committees) starting from 9/1/2021).

In turn, the Dean of the College indicated, "The strongest weapon for a person is his health. If his health is good and stable, he can face his fears and achieve his ambitions. Therefore, we call upon everyone to receive the vaccine, especially our dear students and faculty members, in representation of the decisions issued in this regard and to prepare for an attendance academic year."
