The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, represented by its Dean, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, its faculty, staff, and students, extends its deepest condolences to the entire Muslim Ummah and the noble Iraqi people on the occasion of the holy month of Muharram, the month of sacrifice and redemption, and the commemoration of the tragic martyrdom of the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), the Master of Martyrs, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), his pure family, and his righteous companions in the eternal tragedy of Karbala.

On this solemn occasion, we recall the values ​​and principles for which Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) rose up: to establish truth, support the oppressed, and uphold the values ​​of justice and human dignity, so that his revolution may remain an enduring beacon for freedom fighters in every time and place. We ask God Almighty to make us among those who follow his path and adhere to his noble values, to protect Iraq and its people, and to bestow His abundant mercy upon our righteous martyrs.

May God increase our reward and yours on the anniversary of the martyrdom of the Master of the Free, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
