With hearts believing in God's decree and destiny, the Deanship of the College mourns the passing of the Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Ishaq al-Fayyad.
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
"Indeed, we belong to God, and indeed, to Him we will return."
With profound sorrow and grief, the Deanship of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences received the news of the passing of the Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Ishaq al-Fayyad (may his soul rest in peace), one of the leading figures of the Hawza (seminary) in Najaf and one of the most prominent religious authorities who dedicated his blessed life to serving the true Islamic faith, disseminating the teachings of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them), and establishing the values of moderation, unity, and tolerance. The Iraqi government has declared three days of official mourning on this sorrowful occasion. As we extend our deepest condolences to the Supreme Religious Authority, the seminaries, the noble Iraqi people, and the entire Muslim Ummah on this profound loss, we recall the rich scholarly and jurisprudential legacy of the deceased and the great intellectual and scholarly heritage he left behind, which will remain a beacon for future generations.
We ask Almighty God to shower the deceased with His boundless mercy and forgiveness, to grant him a place in Paradise with Muhammad and his pure family, and to grant his family, followers, and loved ones patience and solace.
To God we belong, and to Him we shall return.
