Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim,
and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed,
and under the slogan “The Lions of Mesopotamia Cycle,” the 39th Scientific Conference for Graduation Research of Students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for the academic year 2025-2026 was held. The conference was attended by a distinguished academic and scientific audience, reflecting the spirit of research, creativity, and scientific excellence.
The conference featured the presentation of a selection of graduation research projects that demonstrated the advanced scientific level of the college's students and their research and knowledge capabilities, which contribute to serving the sports and academic sectors, as well as promoting a culture of scientific research as the cornerstone for building future generations and shaping the future.
In his opening address at the conference, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, emphasized:
“We view graduation research as a national scientific project that reflects the identity of the university student and their capacity for creativity and sound scientific thinking. The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences is committed to establishing an academic environment that combines theory and practice, knowledge and achievement. The slogan of the Lions of Mesopotamia is not merely a title, but a message affirming that our youth are the true force capable of achieving success and raising the profile of our university and country in various scientific and sporting arenas. Today, we are proud of the high-quality research presented by our students, which reflects advanced academic awareness and confirms that the University of Basra will remain a beacon of knowledge, contribution, and excellence.”
At the conclusion of the conference, the Dean of the College commended the significant efforts made by the scientific and organizing committees, the Student Research Projects Committee chaired by Professor Dr. Adel Majeed, and the faculty members in ensuring the success of the conference. The Dean wished the students continued excellence and success in their academic and professional careers.
