The Dean's Office of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences Welcomes the Ministry's Program Accreditation Delegation

The Dean's Office of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the college's Industrial Consulting Office, welcomed the Ministry's program accreditation delegation, headed by Professor Dr. Haitham Mohammed Kadhim, Chairman of the National Council for Accreditation of Colleges of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in Iraq, and his accompanying delegation. This visit was part of a field assessment to evaluate the eligibility of the college's Bachelor's program for program accreditation.

The reception, held in the college's council hall, was conducted in a distinguished and formal atmosphere. It began with a recitation from the Holy Quran and the Fatiha in remembrance of the martyrs of Iraq, followed by the playing of the national anthem. A documentary film was then shown, highlighting the college's current status, its scientific and academic achievements, and its developmental trajectory.

In his welcoming remarks, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, emphasized the significant role of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, in supporting and developing all aspects of the theoretical and practical educational process at the college. He affirmed that the college was proud to receive this distinguished ministerial delegation, noting that this visit represents a pivotal milestone in the college's pursuit of program accreditation. He added that it also reflects the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's commitment to establishing quality standards, academic accreditation, and fostering a culture of institutional excellence.

He further stated that the college views accreditation as a sustainable strategic approach, not a temporary objective, and affirmed its complete readiness to engage positively with the evaluation team's observations and recommendations. This engagement, he explained, will contribute to raising the level of academic performance and improving the outcomes of the educational process.

He concluded by emphasizing the college's aspiration to achieve the highest levels of accreditation for its Bachelor's program. He wished the ministerial delegation success in their mission and expressed his hope that their collaborative efforts would continue to achieve success and excellence in serving the advancement of science.
