The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra held a scientific workshop on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, entitled "Dealing with Accidents and Injuries in Sports Fields and Halls." The workshop was attended by a select group of professors, postgraduate students, and undergraduate students, as part of the college's efforts to enhance scientific and professional awareness in the field of sports.
The workshop lecture was delivered by Professor Dr. Qusay Saleh Malallah, who addressed the most prominent modern methods for dealing with sports injuries and mechanisms for preventing them. The session was moderated by Dr. Hazem Abdul Latif Al-Shawi, who contributed to organizing the discussion topics and enriching the scientific dialogue among the attendees.
The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, emphasized the importance of holding such scientific workshops in establishing a culture of health and prevention among students and enhancing their abilities to deal professionally and effectively with sports accidents and injuries.
He also stressed the college's commitment to supporting high-quality scientific and training programs and its ongoing efforts to prepare students who possess the competence and knowledge to keep pace with modern developments in the field of physical education and sports sciences.
