On behalf of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, we congratulate the second-year morning program team on their well-deserved victory in the volleyball tournament final, which concluded yesterday, Monday, December 8, 2025. The match was a hard-fought and enjoyable contest against the second-year evening program team, who delivered an outstanding performance despite their loss.

This tournament was held under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, the Head of the Department of Applied Sciences, Professor Dr. Haider Awda, and the Director of the Student Activities Division, Professor Dr. Wael Qasim, with significant support from the volleyball instructors.

The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, emphasized the importance of such tournaments and their role in fostering a spirit of cooperation and fair competition among students, developing their physical and mental skills, and raising the level of student activity within the college.

The tournament also saw the participation of a select group of referees from various academic years, in addition to alumni referees from the national federation, who officiated the matches with high professionalism, contributing to the tournament's success.

The college administration extends its sincere congratulations to the winning team and wishes the other teams better luck in future tournaments, affirming its ongoing commitment to supporting sports activities and fostering a sporting spirit among its students.
