"Mechanisms for Selecting Reputable Publishing Houses and Scientific Journals."

The workshop was held under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim,

and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed.

The workshop was presented by:

Assistant Professor Dr. Mustafa Abdul Aziz Mutlaq

and Dr. Salah Murtadha Shaheen,

and was moderated by Professor Dr. Saeed Hussein Hassan.

The workshop included a review of the most important foundations and criteria used in selecting reputable scientific journals and accredited publishing houses, in addition to clarifying the most prominent methods that help researchers avoid predatory journals and publishers.

A discussion was also held with a group of professors who offered their comments and inquiries regarding scientific publishing mechanisms and methods for selecting appropriate journals, which gave the workshop an interactive character and contributed to its enrichment.

Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed emphasized the importance of this workshop in supporting researchers. He emphasized the importance of equipping them with the necessary knowledge to select reliable scientific journals, noting that publishing in reputable venues is a fundamental step towards raising the level of scientific research and enhancing the university's standing in global rankings. He also called for the continuation of such events to serve the scientific journey.
