The Deanship of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra Meets with Graduate Students for the 2025/2026 Academic Year
The Deanship of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra welcomed graduate students (master's and doctoral) at their first meeting of the year. The meeting was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Haider Awfi Ahmed; the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Professor Qusay Muhammad Ali; the Head of the Graduate Studies Committee in the Scientific Department, Professor Adel Majeed; and the Director of Quality, Professor Haider Abdul Razzaq.
During the meeting, the Dean emphasized that the graduate student stage (master's and doctoral) is not merely a stage of study, but rather a research journey that contributes to knowledge creation and community service. It is important to demonstrate diligence and perseverance, and to make your research an added value that contributes to raising the profile of our college and university. You represent an elite group of students, bearers of the torch of research and deep thinking, and you are an extension of a solid academic journey. This stage is a realm of creativity and innovation. Research is not merely a requirement, but rather an opportunity to leave a clear mark and inspire renewed thought. Concluding his remarks, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, honored the previous year's student, Assistant Professor Dr. Khaled Murtadha Shaheen, with the Creativity and Excellence Shield, in recognition of his scholarly efforts and the publication of a solid research paper in an international journal within the SCOPUS database during his doctoral studies. He also praised his achievement in the previous year's 2024/2025 academic session, praising his outstanding achievements.
