The first-stage football championship concluded at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
The championship witnessed fierce competition among the participating teams, which included ten teams representing the first-stage divisions. Section Z was crowned champion of the first-stage championship after an exciting marathon match that ended in a 2-2 draw. The title was decided by penalty kicks, according to the tournament rules. At the conclusion of the tournament, which was attended by the Dean, in addition to the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdul Ali Jaafar, and the Creative Director of Quality, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Razzaq, in addition to a large number of professors and students, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, emphasized the importance of these sporting activities in honing students’ skills and enhancing the spirit of fair competition, praising the efforts of the organizers and all participants, and wishing them further success and progress in the upcoming tournaments.
