The College of Physical Education Hosts the University Marathon to Celebrate the Founding Anniversary

In a lively and energetic sporting atmosphere, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra hosted the University Suburb Marathon, coinciding with the university's celebrations of its 61st anniversary. The marathon was attended by a remarkable number of students and faculty members.
The marathon was organized by the Student Activities Department, embodying the spirit of cooperation and interaction between students and faculty. A large number of professors and students participated in the race, demonstrating a high level of fitness and sportsmanship in an atmosphere brimming with enthusiasm and fair competition.
In a statement, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, emphasized that this event is part of a series of activities organized by the Student Activities Department, in cooperation with the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, with the aim of instilling a sports culture among professors, staff, and students, and encouraging them to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle. He added that the college continues to support all initiatives that contribute to enhancing sports awareness within the university community, which positively impacts the academic and social performance of students. This marathon is a true embodiment of the university's role in supporting extracurricular activities and its commitment to building an integrated educational environment that focuses on developing various aspects of the student's personality.
