
The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra hosted the final match of the Basra Governorate Women's First Division Futsal League in its indoor sports hall. The event was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, the Dean's Assistants for Academic and Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Qusay Muhammad Ali, Professor Dr. Abdul Ali Jaafar, Dr. Kazim Habib, and Dr. Abdullah Shanta, as well as a member of the Iraqi Football Association, Basra Branch, and Chairman of the Futsal Committee, Professor Amjad Muhammad Ali.
The match witnessed exciting competition between the Al-Faw Club and Shatt al-Arab Club teams. Al-Faw Club won the match by four goals to one, crowning themselves champions for this season.
Following the match, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, and the Dean's Assistant for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdul Ali Jaafar Muhammad, along with a number of college instructors, participated in the ceremony honoring the participating teams and distributing cups and medals to both teams. In his speech on the occasion, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed pointed out the importance of hosting such tournaments, which contribute to enhancing the spirit of sporting competition among female players and support women's sports activities in Basra. He praised the efforts of the organizing committee, represented by the head of the Basra Governorate Halls Committee, the distinguished captain Amjad Muhammad Alii, and everyone who contributed to the success of this sporting event.
