Physical Education hosts a symposium on electronic blackmail


Under the patronage of the respected President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem, and under the supervision of the respected Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, the respected Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, the college, in cooperation with the University’s Follow-up Department, the Continuing Education Unit, the Educational Guidance Unit, and the Follow-up Unit in the college, hosted a symposium on electronic blackmail.
The symposium was attended by Professor Dr. Hanaa Abdul Nabi from the College of Education for Girls, teacher Dr. Abdul Ali Al-Tamimi from Al-Kunoz University College, and Colonel Engineer Muhammad Al-Adhari from the Basra Police Command.
The symposium included a detailed presentation on the mechanism for securing electronic accounts and how to avoid unreliable and suspicious websites, in addition to how the person exposed to blackmail communicates with the competent authorities, the serious consequences that the blackmailer is exposed to, and his legal prosecution.
For his part, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, pointed out, “Our society is not devoid of negative phenomena, and our duty is to confront and reduce them. Accordingly, we work periodically to hold and host seminars and lectures that contribute to enhancing the awareness of our dear colleagues and beloved students.”
