A physical education teacher receives the Scientific Creativity Medal


Professor Dr. Lamia Hassan Al-Diwan, a teacher at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, received the Scientific Creativity Medal after participating in the Edison International Competition sponsored by the University of Zakho and in cooperation with the University of Sawa.
The Bureau participated in a patent research entitled (LSS Learning System) in the Edison International Competition for Inventions, Innovations and Creativity and the Second International Exhibition for Patents and Industrial Designs in Dohuk Governorate, Zakho City.
It is noteworthy that Al-Diwan holds the position of editor-in-chief of the Journal of Physical Education Studies and Research at the University of Basra. She has published many books and research papers, discussed and supervised dozens of master’s theses and doctoral dissertations, and is considered one of the figures in physical education and sports sciences in the Arab world.
The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, also awarded her the Creativity Medal awarded by the competition and presented her with a book appreciating her efforts as a result of her effective scientific participation and raising the name of the College in international forums.
The dean also pointed out, “Professor Dr. Lamia Al-Diwan is one of the stalwarts of our college and has a major role in the college’s renaissance. She has supervised and discussed with many of the college’s professors at the present time, and we, in turn, support her in her valuable scientific journey.”
