The Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, met with members of the Journal of Physical Education Studies and Research in the presence of the scientific assistant, Professor Dr. Kamel Shanin, the head of the editorial board, Professor Dr. Lamia Al-Diwan, and the magazine’s work team.
They also discussed the magazine’s business plan, its mechanism of operation, the stage it has reached, the steps that facilitate the magazine’s entry into international containers, and what remains to obtain a Scopus container.
The magazine obtained a DOAJ, a Crossref digest, and a DOI, a step away from the COPE digest, and completed more than 90% of Scopus requirements.
It is noteworthy that the Journal of Physical Education Studies and Research was established in 1986, and its thirty-fourth volume, first issue, will be published as it publishes four issues annually and receives researchers and arbitrators from all over the world and in both Arabic and English.
For his part, the Dean, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, noted, “We are proud to own a solid scientific journal that is considered one of the best in Iraq in the field of physical education studies and research. In turn, we will work hard to support the work team and reach international sources.”
