The committee charged with implementing the central ceremony for Basra University students for the 56th session, which bears the title The Flood of Al-Aqsa, met as directed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
The committee was headed by the Administrative Assistant to the President of the University of Basra, Dr. Haider Khazal, and the membership was attended by the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Haider Awfi Ahmed, and a number of heads of administrative departments at the university.
The committee met twice, the first in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences and the second in the Al-Mina Sports Stadium. The Olympic Arena was also identified as a location for the university ceremony.
For his part, the Dean, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, indicated, “We are offering all the efforts and energies in our college, including teaching staff, employees, and students, to make this ceremony a success and to present our university in a way worthy of its name and history.”
