Under the slogan "Martyrdom and Sovereignty: An Unbreakable Pledge," Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, accompanied by Professor Dr. Abdul Ali Jaafar Mohammed, Administrative Assistant, attended the sixth annual commemoration of the martyrdom of the Victory Leaders and their companions. The event, organized by the Popular Mobilization Forces in Basra Governorate, took place on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at the Basra Sports Club stadium in the Al-Jumhuriya district.

This participation was to proudly and respectfully remember the great sacrifices made by the martyrs, sacrifices that secured victory and established security and stability throughout the nation. Their pure blood will remain a beacon of unity and resilience, and a renewed pledge to preserve the achievements of victory and follow in their footsteps in defense of the homeland and its sacred sites.
