The Dean of Physical Education is a member of the Misurata Scientific Conference in Libya.

In support of academic integrity and the exchange of expertise and knowledge, the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, Professor Haider Awfi Ahmed, along with faculty members Professor Lamia Hassan Al-Diwan and Professor Abdul Sattar Jabbar Damd, were selected as members of the scientific committee for the 10th International Scientific Conference on Sports Sciences, held in Misrata, Libya.
A delegation from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences was selected to the scientific committee for the conference, which is organized by the Arab Scientific Academy for Sports Sciences in cooperation with the Sports Office in Misrata. This conference is considered one of the most prominent scientific events in the field of sports sciences in the Arab world.
The conference is distinguished by its international standing through the participation of four Arab countries in its scientific and organizing committees: Iraq, Libya, Egypt, and the Sultanate of Oman. This reflects the spirit of Arab academic cooperation in developing scientific research in the field of physical education and sports sciences. For his part, Dean Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed emphasized that this participation represents an important step in strengthening the University of Basra's academic presence at the regional level. He pointed out that engaging in such international forums contributes to developing academic competencies and exchanging experiences with peer institutions. It also reflects the growing confidence in Iraqi competencies in international scientific forums.
